Our Own Heroes

June 8, 2015 Maleya Tran

I woke up today not feeling at my best.  You know, one of those days.  We all have them.  I was fully aware of this feeling and thought to myself, what is it that I’m looking for?  What could help this feeling go away?  I realized I wanted something/someone to run to, an escape, an answer.  It’s what we’re always looking for isn’t it?  An answer?  To what?  We don’t always know.

As if something out there has the know-all be-all answer that will cure-all for you.

It’s funny how the Universe always sends you things in perfect timing because when I opened up my Facebook, a friend sent me this lovely video that seem to speak to me so perfectly for the moment.  It was exactly what I needed at exactly the perfect time.  The song spoke to my soul and soothed all my uneasiness.  It was so beautiful I had to share.

Hear the amazing talent of Aldrich and James from the Philippines!!!

Message of the day?

We all are our own heroes, but why is it so hard to realize this truth many times?  As humans, we go searching for it elsewhere, outside of ourselves.  Sex, drugs, relationships, you name it, we want so badly for a fix that is never quite lasting or real.  We are the only hero we’re searching for.  It is simply not possible to make someone else your hero.  So today, recognize it, own it, embrace the hero that you are.  Make the decision to simply love yourself regardless of who you are today, regardless of where you are today in your life.  Be there for you.

All love-
Maleya
